Every day I see things I want to paint. Some views call to me because they pose a challenge to capture, a sort of problem solving, while others are appealing because of color and sunlight. My paintings are usually of still life, coastal and valley landscapes. Over the past several years I have enjoyed painting young children in the land/seascape.

I love mixing colors to create subtle variations of hues. For me, using a limited palette simplifies the painting process: A very few tubes of paint can create a multitude of gorgeous colors. Working in oils lets me paint in layers and simplify the marks at the end of a painting.
